The highly anticipated bout was streamed live on pay-per-view through YouTube, and was attended by about 15,000 fans. Unfortunately, the fight ended without a conclusive winner after six rounds, going to judge’s decision. One judge gave KSI a one point advantage, but the other two judges called the fight a draw, and so the majority ruling was declared.
Some fans have already gone online to accuse KSI and Logan Paul of rigging the fight to sell a rematch. Indeed, some may recall that two fights was always the plan since this situation started, with the first to take place in England (KSI’s home country) and the second to take place in the United States. By having the first fight end in a draw, it may build more anticipation for the rematch.
Of course, it’s possible that the fight was completely legitimate, but we honestly have no way of knowing for sure. After all, KSI and Logan Paul now stand to make even more money than if this fight had ended with a decisive victory, and considering the nature of their careers and the WWE-style buildup to the fight, it’s understandable why some are skeptical.
In the meantime, fans can expect Logan Paul and KSI to continue building their feud on their YouTube channels and through special events. Hopefully the two YouTube stars are able to avoid becoming entangled in any serious controversies between now and their next fight, but even if they do, it’s unlikely that YouTube would ban them.
